Private Yoga

With Niki Villanueva

Private Yoga can have very different benefits for both beginners and advanced participants. Some find it easier to begin their yoga practice by learning poses one-on-one with an instructor. One-on-one lessons can also allow you to address specific injuries or difficulties you may have with any pose; as well as, learning how to improve your form along the way. For the advanced yogi, one-on-one can allow you to learn more advanced poses or take your meditation to a deeper level.

One-on-one Yoga allows you to focus on your personal goals/concerns and set your own plan for flexibility, strength or meditation. Beginners and advanced yoga participants, alike, can benefit from private one-on-one lessons to gain confidence and learn safe practices while getting started or by taking their yoga practice to the next level.

Prime Time

It's never too late or too early to start! Prime Time provides an opportunity to work closely in a small group with a personal trainer to increase mobility, balance, strength and cardio. Exercise is an important part of maintaining health and mobility as we age. Consistent exercise can help ward off disease in elderly and can also improve health of those who are sick and frail. Our Prime Time class helps our senior members feel comfortable and focused as they exercise safely and effectively.

Leave the ego and competitive mindset at the door. Yoga is a time to disconnect and detach from everyday life. This class is for all fitness levels. In the first 10-15 minutes we warm up by simply focusing on the mind/body connections. Arriving on time is critical, for this is when the meditation begins. The "workout" is within the core of the class. This will last about 30 minutes in which we flow from one yoga pose to the next, creating what is called, "A Vinyasa Flow!" In this part of the class you can expect muscles to be challenged, core and balance to be worked, and maybe even break a sweat. In the last 10-15 minutes we slow things down by holding our stretches for longer durations, then we wrap it up by closing with silence in our deepest state meditation, savasana.
